Quick Answer
Your balances, salary and contributions until 55 set the figure. In the example, you start at 50 with a S$5,000 monthly salary, S$100,000 OA and S$80,000 SA. OA and SA reach about S$316,211 combined at age 55. It is a simple projection, not an official statement.
The Useful Number: In the example, OA and SA reach about S$316,211 combined at age 55. This is not the amount you can withdraw.

Which Starting Balances Should You Use?
Enter your age, monthly salary and your Ordinary (OA), Special (SA) and MediSave (MA) Account balances. The calculator adds contributions and interest until age 55. It does not project your retirement income or decide what you can withdraw.
It keeps salary flat, caps monthly wages at S$8,000, leaves out bonuses and medical withdrawals, and deducts any OA housing payment you enter. Use it for direction, not as a CPF statement.

Which Benchmark Should You Choose, And What Are The Limits?
The S$220,400 default benchmark applies to members turning 55 in 2026. Someone aged 50 today turns 55 later and their retirement sum may differ, so enter a benchmark that fits you. The tool shows the gap, not whether your retirement is on track.
New contributions and top-ups earn interest from the next model month, and interest is added after each 12-month model year, not on real dates. Housing payments come out before each month’s contributions. Any shortfall shows as cash needed; OA never goes below zero.
MediSave stops at the 2026 Basic Healthcare Sum, held flat; the excess goes to SA up to the FRS, then OA. It leaves out top-up limits, policy changes and the account transfers at 55, and puts all extra interest into SA. Its MA balance and OA/SA split are not an official future statement.
How Do Balances Connect To Spending And Payouts?
Check your CPF dashboard and official planning tools first. Then read the CPF LIFE guide for payouts and the Retirement Number guide for spending needs. Do not count the same CPF savings twice, as money you can reach and again as future income.

Is MediSave Included In The Projected Total?
No.
The MA balance is shown on its own and is not added to the headline figure. In the example, MA stops at the 2026 Basic Healthcare Sum of S$79,000, and the S$16,161 above it moves to SA. OA reaches S$160,990 and SA reaches S$155,221.
What Benchmark Should I Compare My Projection With?
You can change the benchmark.
Its S$220,400 default applies to members turning 55 in 2026, not to those turning 55 in later years. Someone aged 50 today turns 55 later, so their retirement sum may differ. The tool only shows the gap against your number. It does not say whether your retirement is on track.
What Does The CPF Projection Leave Out?
It keeps salary the same, caps monthly wages at S$8,000 and leaves out bonuses and medical withdrawals.
It caps MediSave at the 2026 Basic Healthcare Sum of S$79,000, held flat, moving the excess to SA up to the 2026 FRS, then to OA. It also leaves out top-up eligibility limits, policy changes and the account transfers at 55. To keep things simple, it puts all extra interest into SA.
How Are Housing Payments Handled?
The calculator takes your monthly OA housing payment out before each month’s contributions go in.
If OA cannot cover a payment, the shortfall shows as total cash needed. OA never goes below zero. The example enters no housing payments.

Rough estimate only. It models money in and out each month, adds interest once per model year and assumes today’s rules stay fixed. You enter the benchmark. It caps MediSave at the 2026 Basic Healthcare Sum (BHS), with the excess moved to SA, then OA. It leaves out top-up eligibility, medical withdrawals and age-55 transfers. Where extra interest goes is simplified.
