1 Your Numbers

Your Comparison

Three ways to use the same one-off amount, and what drives each:

  • CPF top-up: grows at the CPF rate you enter, gives tax relief up to S$8,000, and stays in CPF for retirement.
  • SRS: grows at your investment return and gives tax relief now, but half of what you withdraw later is taxed.
  • Invest directly: grows at your investment return, with no tax relief and no lock-in.

This changes the answer most. From 55, a cash top-up goes into your Retirement Account (RA) and comes back as monthly CPF LIFE payouts. You can still top up at 65 and over.

Chargeable income is your yearly income after the reliefs you already claim, before this new contribution. It is on your IRAS notice of assessment.

S$80,000 minus the personal reliefs you already claim.

What This Estimate Assumes

Rough estimate only, not a recommendation. For Citizens and PRs, CPF cash top-up relief is capped at S$8,000 for yourself and SRS at S$15,300. Both depend on eligibility, account limits and the overall S$80,000 relief cap. Tax savings are reinvested. CPF money may be paid out monthly in retirement, not as a lump sum. From 55 to 64, a top-up goes into your Retirement Account (RA), up to the 2026 Enhanced Retirement Sum (S$440,800). Tax relief only counts up to the 2026 Full Retirement Sum (S$220,400), so we give no relief on any part of a top-up above it. The extra payout grows your RA at 4% a year to 65, then reads CPF Board’s 2026 Standard Plan table for a man, so it is only a rough guide. CPF Board publishes no matching table for women; a woman’s extra payout is likely a little lower. At 65 and over, a top-up still raises your CPF LIFE payout, but no figure is estimated. SRS contributions stop once you make your first penalty-free withdrawal. For SRS, 50% of a qualifying retirement withdrawal is taxed at the rate you enter. Leaves out penalties, fees, market ups and downs, rule changes and withdrawal timing.

Before You Use This Number

Why Include Reinvested Tax Savings?

It shows the full benefit over the same period. If you spend the tax saving instead, CPF and SRS will end up lower than shown.

Can I Take Out CPF And SRS Money As Easily?

No. Each has its own withdrawal rules. The option that grows most may not let you get your money when you need it.
