Compare Brokerage Platforms

Which Broker Charges Least?

Enter your trade size and market. See what one buy order would cost on each platform, cheapest first.

Who can apply: Each broker sets its own rules on residency, passes and documents. On a work pass, each card says whether the broker’s own site confirms it accepts pass holders; also check it still serves you if you move overseas. To hold Singapore shares in your own name you also need a CDP account; SGX asks foreigners for a notarised and apostilled passport and a pass valid for at least six months.

These do not fit your inputs, or the provider does not publish comparable rates or fees. Each one shows the reason. Check the official source for details.

What These Columns Mean
Cost For One Buy Order (S$)
The total cost, in S$, to buy whole shares with your budget in one order: commission, exchange and clearing fees, and GST. For US and UK shares it also adds the cost of changing your S$, unless you choose to leave it out.

Our Method

How This Comparison Works

For US and UK trades, we convert your S$ budget at the exchange rate you enter. We then round down to whole shares at your share price. For Singapore shares we buy only whole 100-share board lots; any odd-lot leftover is not bought. We apply each fee’s published minimums and caps, regulatory rounding and 9% GST for a Singapore tax resident. We convert the charges back to S$. For US and UK trades we then add the cost of changing your money: the platform’s own published FX rate where it publishes one (IBKR, Saxo, CMC Invest and ProsperUs), or your FX estimate where it does not. You can use your estimate for every platform, or leave FX out. Lower total costs rank higher. The exchange rates are your own estimates, not live rates. A provider is not ranked in a market where we do not have its full current buy fees.

Only products we checked in the last 30 days can rank. Expired offers are left out. Paid links never change the order. We compare a selection of products, not every product on the market.

Most platforms do not publish their FX spread, so for them the FX cost is your estimate, not their rate. UK figures assume a UCITS ETF, which pays no UK stamp duty; UK shares add 0.5% stamp duty and a £1.50 levy on trades over £10,000. Leaves out price slippage, custody, transfer and product-specific fees. Sell-only SEC and FINRA TAF fees are outside this buy-order scenario; ADR, penny-stock, fractional-share, direct-routing and algorithmic-order charges are also excluded. Temporary vouchers and partner pricing are not inferred. POEMS models its Starter SG brokerage plus SGX trading/clearing fees and GST; its US schedule is not ranked. IBKR Fixed bundles specified third-party fees while other brokers list them separately. Tiered brokers apply one whole-contract rate from the contract value. Cash-upfront and bank accounts may cap order size. CMC Invest assumes its monthly free trades are used up. Longbridge is listed without a rank because its page does not itemise exchange fees or GST; ProsperUs is listed without a rank because it has closed. The ranking is for one buy order of the size you enter; selling usually costs about as much again, and an active trader’s order could rank differently. For the full cost of buying and selling, use the Trade Cost Calculator. SGX costs here follow each broker’s own fee schedule, including any settlement or other fees it lists, so they can differ a little from the Trade Cost Calculator, which adds only the standard SGX clearing and trading fees.
